Haven Foundation is our solution to providing writing workshops to people who cannot otherwise afford it.
Anyone who donates to the Haven Foundation will be given a tax-deductible receipt for their contribution to help an aspiring writer.

The Haven Foundation 501 3(c) helps anyone who needs financial help to attend the writing workshop —students, young professionals, mid-career women and men, retirees, trauma and cancer survivors, veterans, abuse victims, economically and/or medically disadvantaged individuals, and all writers accomplish the following by attending a Haven Writing Retreat or Program:
Writing can be a practice, a prayer, a meditation, a way of life and a way to life. Most importantly, it is a venue for unique and powerful voice. Through phenomenal and intensive craft instruction, Haven Writing Retreats will help participants identify their voice, distinct from every other voice on the planet.
We are narrative. Haven writers come hungry for theirs and leave bursting with them. At Haven, attendees free-fall into these stories bravely and come out the other side with a new perspective, new understanding, and new narratives. Is it time to finally write that book, essay, play, or poetry collection that’s burning inside?
The Haven programs and vibrant, well-curated Haven community will assist from start to finish.
These narratives don’t have to stay hidden and you don’t have to identify as a writer to tell them.
The Haven I Writing Retreat is a writing workshop and retreat in one. Haven writers allow themselves to fully engage in the creative journey they are already on, whether or not they are aware of it. Writers will walk away with a new commitment to using writing in their life and fresh motion on the narratives that tell their truth. They will also be part of the vibrant Haven community with continued support and programs.
So you want to be a writer. Good! Your writing journey all starts with Haven I Writing Retreat. Once you become a Haven I Alum the opportunities expand to include Haven II Writing Workshop, Haven III Book Editing, and the Writers in Residence program.
